Digital Solutions

Cable theft and unauthorised cuts stop a site — and cost money.

Warda detects mechanical cable cutting in real time without stripping the jacket. The system separates intentional damage from ordinary grid disturbances and alerts duty staff within seconds.

Who it is for

Built for situations where a severed cable is not an option.

  • Construction sites

Temporary feeds and site installations are exposed to theft and vandalism — you need monitoring that installs quickly.

  • Electrical contractors and grids

Contractors and network operators need a clear alert when a cable is tampered with — not false alarms from ordinary outages.

  • Critical infrastructure

Energy, transport and other assets where downtime is expensive and situational awareness is needed immediately.

Products

Capacitive cable monitoring system

An intelligent solution for real-time monitoring of unauthorised cable cuts and theft in power grids, construction sites and critical infrastructure. The system distinguishes intentional mechanical cutting from ordinary grid disturbances and alerts immediately.

  • Contactless, galvanically isolated installation

The sensor clamp attaches directly to the cable outer jacket. No stripping or electrical work required.

  • Electric field monitoring

A capacitive sensor continuously detects changes in the electric field around the cable.

  • Intelligent signal analysis

The processing unit analyses disappearance rate and waveform to separate mechanical cuts from grid faults.

  • Real-time situational awareness

Alerts are sent wirelessly to the cloud, control room and as SMS to responsible parties within seconds.

How it works

How the system works

A distributed architecture: satellite units communicate with the main unit, which filters false alarms and forwards confirmed alerts.

  1. 1. Distributed satellites

Sensor clamps measure the electric field from outside the jacket and send status wirelessly to the main unit.

  2. 2. Main unit

Intelligent analysis distinguishes a grid outage from intentional cable cutting. Only a true alarm proceeds.

  3. 3. Alerts

SMS, mobile push and cloud/control room — duty staff receive location and status in seconds.

Protected by utility model

FI 13909 Y1

Warda’s capacitive cable monitoring is protected by Finnish utility model FI 13909 Y1.

The utility model protects the core idea: capacitive measurement attached to the cable outer jacket, combined with analysis that separates intentional mechanical cutting from ordinary grid disturbances.

For buyers, this means the product is not a generic alarm box but a defined, protected method. It strengthens differentiation in competitive tenders and supports long-term product development and partnerships with contractors and infrastructure operators in Finland and across Europe.

Registration details are available via the Finnish Patent and Registration Office under identifier FI 13909 Y1.

Company

History

Warda Digital Solutions develops protection solutions for critical infrastructure and construction sites. Capacitive cable monitoring was created to detect theft and vandalism without stripping cables — and without false alarms from ordinary power outages.
